
1) Install a peel and stick membrane at the base of the chimney. Install it with a tight, crisp bend from the roof plane up the brick.


2) Install the 1st Step Flashing, nailing it at the top.

3) Install the shingle starter course and the 1st shingle course over the step flashing, taking care not to nail through the flashing.

4) Continue installing step flashings and shingles until the top corner is reached.


5) Install a Cricket Assembly if there is no existing cricket or a Cricket Flashing if a cricket is already framed.

6) Finish installing the shingles.

7) Using a grinder or circular saw with a diamond blade or masonry blade, cut a reglet into the mortar joints for the counter flashing. Use a finished counter flashing for a pattern to mark the mortar joints before grinding.

8) Install the counter flashings. Wedge in place with flashing wedges. Fill the reglets with the proper caulk or matching mortar.
