Chimney Cover Measuring Guide

E-mail Print PDF

From the image below, determine the A, B, C, & D dimensions of your chimney. Many chimneys are not square, so be sure to measure all four sides.

Example: Side A=28", Side B=42", Side C=28", Side D=42". Also include the flue height measurements. If the tiles project out of the chimney wash more than a couple of inches, a taller cap may be necessary. Email us and we'll provide a quote and guide you through the measuring/ordering process. Pictures are worth a thousand words and will help us help you.

Standard side flange height is 2" on side mount caps. If a taller side flange (the verticle strip that turns down over the sides of the chimney or chase) is desired, please let us know.

Chases are wooden framed chimneys that house a metal chimney. They may have a variety of sidings or brick or stone veneers. For chase covers and caps for chases, use the drawing below as a measuring guide.

Aquire the A, B, C, & D measurements as above, the hole diameter and the E and F measurements to locate the hole. If there is more than one hole, also provide the G and H measurements.
